Slava Tribuhovsky is a Ukrainian composer, songwriter, and music producer based in Kraków, Poland. Born into a family of professional musicians, he absorbed music long before formal education — in concert halls, mountain winds, and the noise of Black Sea waves.
After graduating from Kyiv University of Culture and Arts as a choirmaster and vocal teacher, Slava took an unconventional path: his professional music career began at 40. Within two years, artists across Ukraine and the CIS were recording his songs. In 2019, he founded TribuhovskyProduction studio, where composition, production, and cinematic work converged. That same year marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration with the Belarusian group Drozdy as music producer — a partnership that continues to this day.
The story with cinema began almost immediately. In 2020, he scored nine episodes of the anthology series “Outside the Window — Ukrainian Stories” — each in its own genre, with its own director and screenwriter. That same year, working under a 6-hour deadline, he won Best Original Music at the international 48 Hour Film Project 2020 (China) in the Sci-Fi category. In 2021 came the second season of the series (11 episodes), then short films, horror, the documentary “4 Worlds of the Caucasus”, work on the comedy feature “On Rostov”, the youth series “Favorite Terrible Neighbors”, and television projects including Schuster Live “Freedom of Speech.” In parallel, music was created for fashion shows in Milan, Moscow, and Berlin. In 2022, he worked as arranger and sound producer on four tracks for the legendary Swedish group Secret Service.
Then came the rupture. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 forced him to leave his country, his home, and much of what he had built. He arrived in Kraków carrying little — and rebuilt everything. Isolation, two open-heart surgeries, and a 50th birthday spent in complete solitude significantly reshaped his view of life. The music written after became deeper in some ways, and entirely different in others.
In 2025, his score for the documentary Pasja według Agnieszki (dir. Wojciech Staroń) won the Złoty Lajkonik — Best Documentary at the 65th Kraków Film Festival.
Today his catalog spans over 350 works: cinematic orchestral, symphonic, chamber, dramatic underscore, trailer music, comedy, horror, ambient, and more — each piece resonating with stories from his own life and the lives of others.
